New Orleans January 2005 -- Carl L. Barnett Sr. Owner, Gorman McCracken VW/Mazda received the 2005 TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award (TMQDA) today. The announcement was made by Ed McCarrick, Worldwide Publisher of TIME Magazine and Michael A. Parnell, Vice President, Original Equipment Sales, North American Tire, The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company, at the National Automobile Dealer's Association (NADA) Convention in New Orlenas. Barnett and other award winners were honored at the opening of business attended by more than 25,000 individuals involved in the automotive industry.
The TIME Magazine Quality Dealer Award is the automotive industry's most prestigious award for car dealers. TMDQA recipient's are among the nation's most successful auto dealers. However, they must also demonstrate a long-standing commitment to effective community service. Barnett is is one of only 65 dealers, from the 19,500 nationwide, nominated for the 36th Annual Award.
